March 7, 2026, Myakka City, FL. Amanda Derbyshire (GBR) and Cornwall BH have been no strangers to the top of the leaderboard throughout the TerraNova Winter Series.

Today, the pair added another milestone victory, capturing the $65,000 Akerman LLP FEI 1.45m Grand Prix and making history by winning two of the four FEI CSI2* Grand Prix events offered during the 2026 series.

Derbyshire and Cornwall BH previously claimed victory in the $65,000 Equestrian Services International FEI 1.45m Grand Prix during Week 1 and the $32,000 Everglades Equipment Group 1.45m FEI Welcome Speed during Week 2, along with several additional top finishes in feature classes throughout the circuit.

The winning pair delivered a fault-free first round, followed by an equally fast jump-off in 35.82 seconds. Derbyshire also delivered another strong performance in today’s class, placing sixth aboard her second mount, Conblue, with two clear rounds. Philip McGuane (IRL) and Coronado claimed second place in today’s Grand Prix after producing two fault-free rounds and a jump-off time of 36.34 seconds.

After walking the course, Derbyshire said the track rode exactly as expected, requiring riders to approach the first round much like a speed class to make the tight time limit.

“The course today was beautiful and rode very similar to how it walked,” Derbyshire says. “The course designer asked different questions of the riders in different places, and the time allowed was fairly tight. You really had to ride the first round a bit like a speed class to make the time. A few riders ended up with time faults because of it, but I was fortunate enough to jump double clear with Cornwall BH.”

In the jump-off, Derbyshire largely stuck to her original plan but made a quick adjustment in the final line.

“I planned to do six strides in the last line, but I ended up doing seven,” she explains. “I thought I was fast everywhere else, but that was one place where I changed my mind on course to make sure we jumped it clear. Aside from that, I stuck with my plan.”

Derbyshire’s partnership with Cornwall BH has developed over years of competition together, allowing her to better understand when to trust the experienced gelding and when to adjust during a round.

“For example, I’ve learned that on the right rollback I need to add an extra stride, that took me about five years to figure out,” Derbyshire says. “If you give him that extra stride to see the jump, he’s so careful and such a trier.”

Now 18 years old, Cornwall BH will enjoy a well-earned break following an exceptional winter season.

“Because of his age I’m keeping him at the two-star level to keep him happy,” Derbyshire says. “He’s actually done for the winter season now. He’s shown five weeks and jumped clear every single week, so he’s definitely earned his break.”

With the win, Derbyshire and Cornwall BH secured two of the four Grand Prix titles offered during the 2026 TerraNova Winter Series, while also finishing second in another.

“It means so much to make history like that,” Derbyshire says. “To win two of the four and be second in another is amazing. We love this venue, it’s relaxing and peaceful here, and I feel like we can really do a great job jumping our horses while also enjoying ourselves. I’m very thankful to the owners for putting on these shows at such a beautiful facility and for treating everyone better than anywhere else.”
